“Women talk face to face but men talk shoulder to shoulder”

 The Classy Gents came across the above saying earlier in regards to a community movement trying to get older, mainly widowed, men to come together and share in their passion. This movement is called the Man Shed and encourages men to come along to a communal workshop where they can make or fix things side-by-side. A chuffing brilliant idea, one has to applaud.

It is also, sadly, a true adage that men are poor communicators. The Man Shed concerns itself with men being able to share in their personal feelings and life stories in an effort to create a support network. Again, this is admirable and is truly the only masculine way that men should talk about these things.

However, a Classy Gent is one who always has witty conversation poised on his lips. His company should never be in doubt that he has worldly knowledge and if conversation begins to lull, it is to the Classy Gent that we turn to spur it back up again. Affable, charming but never condescending; the Classy Gent talks face to face with men, women and children, then gives them a hearty slap on the shoulder before being on his way.
